The Painted Churches of Schulenburg

    We stayed in a quaint RV park, in Schulenburg, Texas, (quaint equal= small nice town, but the RV campers are stack in like cord wood, great for a quick stay over night and quick get away in the morning). At the Rv park office  there was a curious arrangement of photographs of churches on the back wall (The park is between Houston and San Antonio).
    The story: back around 1800 Czech and German immigrants moved into the area and settled. At least 5 Catholic churches were build in the area and the rumor is that a European drifter painted the interiors of the churches. The one we saw has the most amazing stained glass I've seen. Plus that the ceiling and columns are ornately painted. We talked to another visitor and they told us that the High Hill Church that we were seeing was the best.
